What Do Toothbrushes Have To Do With Passwords?

How many cyber-attacks do you think happen every day? What do toothbrushes have to do with Cyber Attacks?

Plenty.

According to a CBS article: there are over 4,000 cyber-attacks every day, 170  every hour, and nearly three every minute.

Can all of them be stopped?  No. But every internet user can do a better job with prevention.

Verizon, a big player in internet security and preventing cyber intrusion and hacking
advises that we change passwords often, don’t use the same password for every account and app, and look into a password scrambler.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, we all say we’ll change and then don’t do anything about it.

Here’s an analogy that Verizon and others use that might get us to think and act:  Good personal hygiene advice is don’t share your toothbrush with anyone and change it often.  The same applies for passwords: Don’t share them with others and change them often.
